Accepted by the Navy as Model N2S-1 on December 21st, 1940, this aircraft served for a large majority of World War II. It first was stationed at the Naval Air Station Jacksonville in Florida. On October 29th, 1942, it was moved to the Naval Reserve Air Base Anacostia in Washington DC. On July 8th, 1943, it moved to its final service location at the Naval Air Station Memphis in Tennessee, where it remained until September 30th, 1944 when it was removed from Navy service.
