NICE FORMAL PORTRAIT OF
MR. SMALL IN HIS DRESS
UNIFORM FROM PARKS.

HEAD ON VIEW OF A FAIRCHILD
PT-19/26.  PARKS WOULD ADD
CANOPIES TO THEIR PT-19s,
MAKING IT EASY TO MISTAKE
THEM AS PT-26s.  BCWs PT IS
A PRIME EXAMPLE OF THIS.

THIS GIVES US AN IDEA OF
PARKS' COLOR SCHEME. IT
IS IN THE PREWAR BLUE FUSELAGE
AND YELLOW WINGS. THIS IS A
1940-41 AIRCRAFT.  IF YOU LOOK
AT THE TAIL, IT WAS ORDERED
IN 1940. INDICATED BY THE
BEGINNING "0" IN THE TAIL
NUMBER.  LATER PLANES, LIKE
OURS WERE SOLID SILVER.

THIS PHOTO WAS COLOR RESTORED
BY SCOTT HEAD IN AUG 2007.
THANKS TO SCOTT FOR HIS EFFORTS!

MR. SMALL AND AN UNNAMED
CADET.  PERHAPS IT'S A POST
SOLO FLIGHT PHOTO.

THE SOLO CELEBRATION
PHOTO IS STILL A STANDARD
TODAY!

PT ON FINAL APPROACH. THE
CREW AT THE END OF THE
RUNWAY SUGGESTS THAT IT
MIGHT BE A "SUPERVISED" 1ST
SOLO.

EVEN WITH AN AIRCRAFT AS
EASY TO FLY AS THE FAIRCHILD,
ACCIDENTS DID TAKE PLACE.
HERE ARE THE REMAINS OF ONE
SUCH ACCIDENT. NO DETAILS
ARE KNOW AS TO SURVIVORS
IN ANY OF THE ACCIDENT

YET ANOTHER PT CRACK UP.
THIS WAS PROBABLY 1941 TO
EARLY 1942 DUE TO THE
PRE-WAR INSIGNIA.

THREE CADETS IN WHAT APPEAR
TO BE A-9 FLIGHT COVERALLS.

MOMENT.

A COVER TO THE AUGUST 1943
PARKS NEWSLETTER. NOTICE THE
HANGAR AREA AND DIRT
LANDING FIELD.  BCW's PT
WOULD HAVE BEEN IN IT'S 5TH
MONTH OF SERVICE.

A NEWSLETTER SUPPLEMENT
DESCRIBING THE DETAILS OF THE
EDUCATIONAL DEFERMENT
PROGRAM.  THIS ALLOWED
STUDENTS IN TRAINING FOR
"WAR ESSENTIAL" JOBS TO
CONTINUE IN SCHOOL RATHER
THAN BE DRAFTED PRIOR TO
COMPLETION OF TRAINING.

AN AT-6 THAT HAS BELLIED IN.
WE HADN'T HEARD OF ANY AT-6s
SERVING AT PARKS, SO PERHAPS
THIS ONE USED THE FIELD AS
AN EMERGENCY FIELD.
